Spice Market Cafe

While my birthday was boring, the day after my birthday was more interesting. We went to Spice Market Cafe in Rasa Sayang Resort for lunch buffet. :D I love and missed Rasa Sayang Resort. I used to visit it pretty often because I have relatives who came back to visit Penang. Besides, my dad used to play water sports with his friends so my siblings and me got to go to the beach pretty often.

Almost everything there are good especially the lamb, crab and chicken satay. However, I would suggest them to improve on the Indian and Japanese cuisines. I will be posting up a few photos. You can check the rest in my facebook, though only my network of friends have access to it. But if you are reading I would assume you're one of my friends. ;)

Just wished Blogger has something like Facebook's upload function. It's so much easier to upload photos that way.

The entrance to Spice Market Cafe, taken from side view as the front has a group of family blocking the way.

Oh I love the colours those bell peppers make the dish looked. It's cooked with mussels.

Indian cuisine looks appetizing, huh? But it's not really nice...

Oh dear, the choices of cake for cake lovers or dessert lovers.

I am a dessert lover and I was being greedy. *smirks*

For more (just a few more), please check my Facebook, my friends. :)

Azuma

Oct 30, 2009

Location: Queensbay, Next to Harvey Norman, one floor above Borders, North Court.

I went to lunch after getting my paycheck. Alone. :(

But every bite was worth my loneliness and $$.

This is the entrance. It's a bit hidden. But it's right next to Borders. I hope you know where is Borders or perhaps you may know Coffee Bean?? Yea, that side of Queensbay.

I like the surrounding. It's pretty cozy for an afternoon.

I like the design of the cup.

I even like the design of the ceiling light near the window.

Let's get to the food.

The rice portion is less compared to Sushi King and Sakae Sushi but the slice of salmon is thick and you can see the freshness from the colour, you can even taste it!

Notice that the portion of the sushi is small but the concept is having the sushi go into your mouth in one go. It's how you're suppose to eat sushi anyway. I am sure guys never have trouble with eating sushi in one go but girls tend to have problem with this one in which we bite half and all the eggs fall into the plate. :( This one ensures that you get all in one go. Unless... you really have a very small mouth... then perhaps you should make your own sushi :p

I forgot what was this set called. But the salmon is glazed with honey sauce. If you're a fan of sweetness, this is better than Teriyaki sauce. :D The taste of the fish may be there but it's SALMON, what do you expect? Nevertheless, the honey sauce really combines well with it.

It's another expensive place, which cost me RM34 alone...

RM18 - Salmon rice set
RM4 - Salmon eggs sushi (forgot the Japanese name)
RM6 - Salmon sushi

Plus tax... you have RM33+

Uneventful but Nostalgia Afternoon

This year it was uneventful but it was nostalgic to be able to spend time with my grandma and aunty. I have forgotten how long it was since I last celebrated my birthday with them. My parents are in Vietnam or LCCT. So they can't celebrate with me :(

So during lunch time, we went to The Breeks. We ordered our food, have a talk, lecture my youngest bro, blow some candles, viola! My afternoon birthday session was over. Then I walked around Gurney Plaza to look for clothes for tomorrow! Sadly, I couldn't find one. So I went to Living Quarters (expensive place to buy your kitchen ware) to get the cake mixer Yean Mei and I saw the other day. UNFORTUNATELY... it was the last one and it has scratches around it. So I decided not to buy it. :(

I tried my luck in Parkson... hoping I could get something like the one I saw in Living Quarters. I did! Although the mixing bowl is smaller, but it will do fine. So I bought the cake mixer (the brand is Faber) and it's cheaper. :D

Thanks Yean Mei~

Also thanks to my aunty for treating lunch and the cake!
